week 2

Finally, it's the end of week 2. Deadlines for drop/adds are past, so I am fully cemented in my crazy overload schedule. At the moment, though, I am all too ready for this weekend to be over [hopefully I'll never say that again].

Anyway, so all this week weather.com has been hinting at rain, and I, being too excited about it, tried to hard to be prepared.

Monday: I wore something that could match my new rain boots if I needed it to. [I didn't.]

Tuesday: The ground looked wet when I got up and the forecast said rain, so I wore my new rainboots! It didn't actually rain, though.

Here's a close-up of the boots: they have elephants on them!

Wednesday:  No rain. Arm warmers, though!

Thursday: Nothing special. Except that one of those buttons came off in Japanese class. -.-'

Friday: Actual rain! This was the absolute highlight of my week.

And then with rain jacket:

Saturday: A very bad day. Therefore, bum clothes.

Sunday: Not so good a day either, partly because I did absolutely nothing productive yesterday, on account of having a really bad day. I did kind of get dressed, though.

I also wore my new shoes for the first time. You can see a hint of the Harvard socks Allie gave me, which I adore and wear more often than I really need to.

Et voila this week. I am so glad that it's almost over. The week itself was fine, but this weekend was an overall awful. >_<  Hopefully next week will be better! Also, I think it might be finally starting to get cold around here, which excites me to no end; the outfit possibilities get exponentially bigger once I add in my unnecessarily large collection of long-sleeve shirts. :)

On a totally unrelated note, I kind of hate Blogger and the way you make/edit posts. I won't leave it though, because I like my layout and it kind of feels like giving up. Maybe they'll figure out a way to make it better.

first week

It's finally the end of first week! I definitely underestimated how hot it would be here, so since I only brought two pairs of shorts and I wore them multiple times during NSW and didn't do laundry until a few days ago, skirts are the only things I can wear around with dying of heat. I can't wait for it to get cold - why do you think I went to school in Minnesota?

9/14/09 - My sister always makes fun of this shirt. I would just like to say that I bought the shirt because the peace signs and words made a smiley face, not because of the placement of the peace signs. -.-'

So one of the problems with taking pictures from my webcam is that the quality is very bad. Here's a close-up, slightly better picture of my dress, because I like it.

If you've been attentive, you might have noticed a lack of shoes - or indeed, feet - in these pictures. Since my roommate moved in, I haven't been able to find a good place to take full shots, since her bed sticks slightly into the hallway I used before. But since my shoes are usually not that special, I figure it's not worth it to try and maneuver them into the picture. Also I didn't bring my black flip-flops to school so half the time my shoes don't really match anyway.

One thing I am sad about is the general inability to see my earrings. Maybe in the future I'll do some close-ups, if they're particularly cute [like the pandas I wore in one picture up there that you can't see].

nsw training + nsw

So, I have to confess that I've been thinking about doing this blog for a long time and the only reason I didn't do it until now was the difficulty of coming up with a name. I wanted to start this project with the day I got back to school, but like I said, the lack of a name kept me from actually making this blog until today. I did take pictures, though, every day since I flew back to Minnesota [with the exception of a very little bit of cheating], so here's what I've got so far:

9/3/09 - Arrival at Carleton for New Student Week Leader training! Note the general mess of unpacking.

9/4/09 to 9/8/09: NSWL training. Nothing too exciting to say, other than you can note the progress of my unpacking as the days go on.

9/8/09: Dressing up for our classy dinner in celebration of our last night of training

9/9/09 to 9/13/09 - Basically all I wore this whole week was some variation of this shirt/its long-sleeved version [both of which I love; they also have my name printed across the back] + a pair of shorts and flip-flops. No point in taking separate photos.

9/10/09: The one exception to what I wrote above; dressing classy [again] for NOlympics. :)

So voila the "pre-weeks" to Carleton; check in next time for the first week of real classes and real Carleton life. :)

objective

So, I have a lot of clothes, which can be arranged into a veritable smorgasbord of different outfits. While there are [many] days where I wake up and just pull on whatever seems comfortable and [relatively] clean, generally I do put in some effort into how I look [which may come as a surprise to people who knew me for the first two years of high school]. Sometimes I'm downright proud of what I'm wearing, and that's where the idea for this blog came from. Basically, as long as my schedule/my own interest will allow, I will take a picture of myself every day, if only so that in ten years I can admire or ridicule my fashion sense, whichever the case may be [hopefully the former].

All pictures will be taken with my laptop webcam, for consistency, if not quality. Besides, it's much easier than attempting to do the same with my actual camera. Pictures will be posted on a weekly basis, unless life happens, in which case they'll be posted whenever I remember to post them.

I don't really expect anybody to read this [ever], but here's to a new, hopefully long-lived and relatively entertaining project! :)
